My Lip Injection Experience!

*Disclaimer: You are beautiful. You should not feel the absolute NEED to change yourself. If you do want to alter the way you look, that is OKAY but do it for YOU and no one else*

I’m someone who doesn’t feel the need to keep any cosmetic procedures I get a secret (I say that as if I’ve had a lot…but I haven’t). People don’t lie about changing the colour of their hair…or getting braces…so why should making your lips a little bit more plump be any different?

This blog post will aim to explain why I got them, provide info for anyone who’s thinking about getting them, and hopefully make you feel more comfortable about doing things that make YOU happy.

The why:

Did anyone every say anything to you when you were a kid that just really stuck with ya? Maybe something small that they didn’t realize would turn into your biggest pet peeve about yourself? In the seventh grade I had a friend who made a small comment about how tiny my lips were. She made an analogy for me to reallyyyyyy understand just how she felt about them, and I quote: ” It’s like you have a black hole in the middle of your face *proceeds to laugh*“. I laughed with her because I’m totally the type of girl that will laugh at herself, however if I agree with it…I’ll probably try to do something about it. Many of my friends have agreed with me when I’ve made comments about how small they were since. Therefore, I wanted to look into getting them done.

I got my lips done for me. I don’t care who knows about it. I don’t care what anyone else thinks about it. If you are getting them done and genuinely care about either of those two things^ chances are, you aren’t doing it for you and probably should not be doing it at all.

Info:

The most recent time I got my lips done was a couple of weeks ago and it was my third experience having needles injected into my mouth for that precious plump. I go to the VERSO Surgery Centre in Oakville, Ontario. It is the only place I will ever go for them for multiple reasons. It is an award winning clinic with state-of-the-art surgical facilities and is built to the same standards as a hospital. All the employees are HIGHLY knowledgeable in cosmetics. I get mine done by Dr.Kolenda who does everything under the sun from lip injections to facial reconstruction surgery. He knows what he’s doing.

I also have complete trust in him because he will NOT let you do anything that he doesn’t feel will look good. You could literally offer him a million dollars to do something and if he felt it would not suit you, he wouldn’t do it. The clinic is absolutely beautiful. It is immaculate and definitely feels like a cross between a high end salon and new age medical centre.

My first time…

The first time I got my lips done I got 1/3 of a syringe. This was enough to have a bit more of a plump but not enough for people to be like “omg your lips look so much bigger”. I had to tell most people that I got it done for them to notice. I would suggest doing this first because 1. it’s cheaper and 2. you really get a feel for what your lips would look like with more and you can decide whether or not it’s for you.

This past time…

I got a full syringe. That may sound like a lot, but to give you a better idea of how much it is…it’s rumoured that the Kardashians get around 3-5 FULL syringes. So yes 1 is a lot more than what I was used to…but no it’s not a ton by any means.

I was a little bit weary of getting the full syringe because I can be a baby, but Dr.Kolenda said “trust me you will love it”…so I listened. HE WAS SO RIGHT. The shape is more natural because it’s not just a little bit of plump pushing up what I already had. He was able to provide plump and a bit more shape with the extra filler.
